Would it be easier by grabbing a window machine(I assume window has NW client built-in) or any existing machine that can access that server now and copy over the content to a local directory or another server ?Originally Posted by KnightFire
Hi,
I need to access an old Novell Netware 386 (nwfs-386) file system before converting it over to a Linux box. Knoppix currently does not support nwfs... I'm looking for guidance on how to add that functionality. Is it a kernel thing or does mount have to modified as well? Could someone simply provide me with a module and information on making a boot floppy for 3.2-2003-09-05? Or is it simpler than that. The source is located at:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/fs/nwfs/
Any assistance has my humble appreciation.

If the machine that you are copying is not setup with SCSI drives do the following.
I would do as garyng suggested, but take it further. Install Knoppix on a new machine and configure it with the service you want to run. Leave the kernel as is. Then start copying you user data over to this machine. Running it in parallel. Then when you are done take that hard drive and install it in the old server if you want.
Otherwise you may need to start from scratch with new identical hardware.
