I pretty sure that any external modem that connects to the serial port is linux compatible. If is is an external USB modem, some work and some don't. You should take a look at the modem databse linked here: http://www.linmodems.org/
Hi;
I want to introduce an MCSE buddy to linux by installing knoppix on his home pc.
He told me he has a US Robotics 56K modem (Model #064modem.
He says its an external, hardware modem.
Any ideas if this will work with gnu/linux or if he needs to buy a new modem?
Thanks in advance
Steve
