Problems with screen

Hi!
I´m an absolute noob to linux, but since i read much stuff about knoppix in c´t i tried it out.
Here´s my problem: if i run knoppix from cd and boot normally i can´t see anything on my screen but grey flickering. If i start with the option 'failsafe' it works, but my mouse won´t work

I use an Eizo Flexscan L 565 Screen, a NVidia GeForce Ti4400, i connected both with the DVI-I-Cable. My mouse is an MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer.

Guess there is a problem with your hardware. you can try some of the cheatcodes (f1 on start for info, check the wiki on this site for more).
