I'm trying to run knoppix 3.2 (release 2003-5-16-beta) on a Dell Inspiron 300m laptop, with media base (USB) CD-RW/DVD drive.
Knoppix starts booting fine, but then it returns the error:
PCI: Device 00:1f.1 not available because of resource collision
and then says it is "droppng" to a limited kernel with just six commands: cat, mount, umount, nsmod, lsmod and one more **mod. The command line prompt
knoppix #
shows up and that is it.
I've tried the failsafe, expert, knoppix pci=bios and other cheatcodes, none works. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
(The laptop has MS Windows XP Pro installed, no free HD space)
