    Tuxracer X-problem with hd-installed 3.3

Can't seem to get tuxracer to work with xserver.
I deleted the vga=791 in lilo to skip the video mode problem, but vga=normal didn't do for tuxracer either, so I deleted the whole line in lilo.

Does the line in lilo have anythig to do with xserver?

I have an onboard i810 chipset and 19" monitor, and it boots okay to a nice big resolution, but seems to use some VESA mode incompatible with tux
Also when I try to use the kde X-config it allways jumps back to vga???

I have noticed that DRI fails to work after an installation of Knooppix oon my machines. To check if DRI is working do:

    glxinfo

At the top of the screen output look for a line that reads:

    DRI: (yes or no)

    Also you can do

    glxgears

and get a fps measurement. It might be beneficial to boot the cd and see if DRI is working from cdrom with the same commands. Post some hardware details please.

I can run TuxRacer but it is only on the screen half way. It covers the right side but the left side is black as if the image is moved over that far.

    Any ideas?

Sorry for the delay, had to do boring things like sleep and work

    With hd-install I get:

I'm just a newbie so I really don't get it, why the difference with dri?
XF86Config-4 should load dri and every module in the module section, or should it?

    Post some hardware details please.
    What hardware details?
I have an ASUS motherboard with onboard chipset recognised as a Generic i810 video card.

    Racing away

I'm not even sure what happened.
I just fiddled around with kde:s x-settings and presto, tuxracer works.
Intel seems to have 3 pcs i810 adapters to choose from and the 3:rd worked.
BTW, DRI is now loaded when I check glxinfo, thanks for the tip.
