Hi,
I installed off my knoppix 3.1 disks today, and i set my root password.
After the install I cannont login with my root password and i also cannot login as knoppix
any help.
I have tried booting with knoppix and editing /etc/shadow but there is a * in between the first set of colons ?
Any advice

At the LILO screen type in linux single and enter then when you get to the console passwd to set a new root password and if you want at the same time passwd knoppix and set one there as well reboot (shutdown -r now in the console) and see if was successful.Originally Posted by cocojumbo
