    Well the new Kanotix is out and works great on the nforce board. It has the forcedeth driver! YEAH!

    Here's the output from mbmon:

    Temp.= 36.0, 58.5, 0.0; Rot.= 4500, 0, 0
    Vcore = 1.68, 1.68; Volt. = 3.41, 4.81, 11.86, -16.19, -6.12

    Now, go here and get FVCool103.tar.gz a very awesome app designed by a nuclear physics prof.
    Run it an voila! a 28 degree difference! (YMMV)

    Temp.= 30.0, 30.0, 0.0; Rot.= 4530, 0, 0
    Vcore = 1.70, 1.70; Volt. = 3.39, 4.95, 11.49, -16.19, -6.12

    More fans? We don't need no more stinkin fans. :P

    Next I'll put the system under a load and see how she does.

    It may be possible to drop the Vcore to, say, 1.65 if you are not contemplating serious o'cing. Worthwhile to try, as power/heat dissipation follows a square law. It would also be very useful to reduce that Vcore thermal loading. Are you still using phase-change interface material on your HSF? Nobody recommends that - use pure silver paint, nothing else, whether or not you apply FVCool!

    Hi!
    I bought the same mainboard and it works well under Linux (SuSE 9.0), but i don't know how to get the onboard-lan to work.

    A friend of mine bought the ECS K7SOM with onboard Duron, Sound and Network for under $80 - and he told me it works great (and fast enough for him) under Knoppix... out of the box... just insert RAM and CD drive and there you go... suoper cheapo!

    For example (this is not advertising, you can buy this everywhere even cheaper) http://www.shentech.com/ecsk7v7amdpr.html
