Can anyone suggest an application that can take a number of image files (preferably jpeg and bitmap) and print them out on a single sheet without having to do much in the way of manual setting up? using old silver technology this was referred to as a contact print, from the method used to produce them!

I used to use IrfanView which did this very well, it let you select how many images widthways and by height and combine them without gaps and even add in the filename.

It will take me many hours to try out all of the image viewer apps out there to find one that lets me do this!

An add-on for GIMP would be nice, I'll start looking there first!

Okay found it!

The tool 'montage' - part of the ImageMagik suite will do this.

A plug-in or a script for the GIMP would still be nice!
