no letters only blocks in kde

    hello,

i have a stupid little problem.

i installed knoppix 3.3 on my harddisk. it works quite good, but then i tried to install sim.

    apt-get install sim

it downloaded a few packages and since then i only have blocks in kde and no letters anymore. even kdm has this error.

i tried restarting xfs i tried rebooting... no difference.

    thanks,

    Klaus

I would suggest you check /etc/fonts/local.conf and see if you have included those X bitmap fonts for fontconfig.

I encountered similar problem before but am not sure if it is the same problem.

    Problem solved

hmm... it seems the update changed some path of fonts or something similar.

after changing the XF86config-4 to the original knoppix version it works perfect now.

    So long...
