i have a stupid little problem.
i installed knoppix 3.3 on my harddisk. it works quite good, but then i tried to install sim.
apt-get install sim
it downloaded a few packages and since then i only have blocks in kde and no letters anymore. even kdm has this error.
i tried restarting xfs i tried rebooting... no difference.

hmm... it seems the update changed some path of fonts or something similar.
after changing the XF86config-4 to the original knoppix version it works perfect now.
