Knoppix Remaster with a full functional DEMO application

Hallo,

next week i have at Mednet congress to hold a workshop about the Open Source software http://www.care2x.de.

The Idea is to build a Knoppix CD for interested people with a complete demo of care2x preinstallet and usable by click. (Doctors normaly are no computer experts and at that remastered CD all must be simple.

I used here the German Remastering Manual.

I let Apache start at boottime and also the Same with MySql.

Next step failed:

I am as root in the chroot at chroot /mnt/hda4/knxsource/KNOPPIX
Than mount -t proc /proc proc
I can ping servers. I download

http://care2x.net/files/care2xb1009_exp.tar.gz

and extract the files to /var/www.

With lynx i go to lynx http://localhost/install/install.php

Database name: care2xdb
Database Username: care2x
Database password: xxxxx

and so on...

when i try now to install care2x a message apears.

Could not connect to database. Possible causes: wrong access information or access not permittet.

Normaly the install script does also install phpadmin. Than i have no problem with it. But now is there any idea how to manage it to make a Knoppix and care2x Demo CD?

Please help and write down the commands that are missed. Or what i have to do in Steps.

the command to start it is 'mysqld'. Does it work after entering this?

make sure that the username and password are accepted as valid by the mysql.

You can still start the phpmyadmin by typing
http://yourhostaddress/modules/phpmyadmin/

you will be asked for the database username and password.
If phpmyadmin cannot log-in, then the problem lies on the mysql server.

What is the default password and user, when i start mysql in that chroot? Or from cd?

Initially when MySQL is installed, there is only two user accounts, root and test. User root and user test have no password.

You should be able to connect via any account as long as it is local to the machine. You need to specifically enable remote access.

Hello plasticdoc nice to here from you on that page. The warning is toooo late .

The thing is that an this harddisk there is at hda1 15 gig Win 98 and hda2 is 1 gig swap the hda3 ~35 gig is suse 8.1 (special press release) mixed with a web update to suse 8.2 php in a specific configuration for firebase and so on... I use it as desktop system and a long plan is to change to debian. so yesterday i installed knoppix.3.3 to solve the problem for cd remastering. But i made a mistake during installing and now the system boots only with debian in lilo. the partitions are all primary and now i have realy a problem to bring back the old suse installation.

See this thread but not laughing. graphic display is not possible because i use a cheap asrock mainboard with unsupported graphik chip in suse8.1 and its needs time to repair the system

I work now 2 days to solve the problems.

Now some words that are possibly not interesting in that discussion and boring the folks.

But a way to communicate.

Plasticdoc i have to excuse to the care2x project team that the remastering of the Knoppix CD with Care2x fails. At the moment i don't like to loose my data. So if noone outside produce such a cd or helps, we have no cd with care2x on a knoppix cd as demo at the international MEDNET congress at
5. of December in Geneva and at OSHCA (open source health care aliance) anual meeting at 7. December in Geneva.

The apache server and mysql have to be startet at boottime. and its a good idea to set a link at desktop to the browser that starts care2x at localhost and also a link to the credits and GPL License.

A special offer of Mednet is: We can posibly publish with a team together an article at two interesting journals:
