i have a compaq deskpro pII 350 with s3 virge dx/gx on pci (375/385). i got knoppix 3.1 and booted from cdrom. software loads fine. all programs work but the graphics is terrible. the screen is degraded in several places. much of the windows are degraded. if i scan the mouse from right to left over the screen some of the degradation goes away. is there a way i can get a better driver to load at boot?? thanks - i'm a real newbie to unix - all i've ever used is windows.

i should have read further into the hardware forum before posting. i tried xmodule=vesa at boot and the graphics are great. nice programs. as i get more familiar with this os i hope to dump my windows os into the "never to be recyled again" bin.
