The default boot runlevel is 5 (check your /etc/inittab), so you should create a link under /etc/rc5.d similar to the one you see under rc3.d, and it will be run at startup.
Successfully installed Knoppix 3.3 to the harddrive of a Sony Z505-HS laptop and everything (except the winmodem) works. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the pcmcia services autostart. I have to do a manual 'pcmcia start' after booting. I installed off a pcmcia cdrom drive after booting using the nopcmcia option which is probably why it isn't starting by default.
There is a S15pcmcia script in /etc/rc3.d. After reading up on init.d, it seems that that would be sufficient. Could someone clue me in on what I'm missing?
TIA...
