how to enable login screen in KNOPPIX for authentication

hello friends, i have played a little bit with knoppix, i want to know that how to set up password for KNOPPIX and ROOT user in knoppix, and how to get the login screen, so that we can login using the above accounts and entering the passwords, because when the cd boots, it directly logins using knoppix account and then we can change it to root, using "su" command , but i want that it should give the login screen for login in the users during the boot process so that they can be authenticated , so plz tell me the procedure for that

You can not do this while booting from cd-rom...you must be running from an hd-install to configure kdm to ask for authentication. It can be done (as root) in kcontrol (Kde Control Center) > system administration > Login Manager > convenience (something like this), and uncheck Automatic Login...

You cannot change the autologin to knoppix i.e. /home/knoppix while running from the C.D. for the purpose of getting login screen , you have to install the knoppix on to hard-disk , use the command knx-hdinstall to install it to hard disk.
