I would just edit the /etc/network/interfaces file and remove eth0 from the "auto" line.
Hello,
im tring to persuade my eth0 not to initiate at boot time:
Im going online with pppoe (pon poff), so i do NOT need a ip assigned to eth0!
However i've got only the choice to assign an ip over DHCP (which i don't have and therefore don't want) or to assign a static ip (an option that i don't want neither, because i cannot declare a standard gateway, cause there is none)
I would like my eth0 to do absolutely nothing, until pon is called. that option is not available in netcardconfig. what can i do ??? Anyone has a goo idea???
thanx, the dwarf
I would just edit the /etc/network/interfaces file and remove eth0 from the "auto" line.
