New Overclockix 3.4 remaster hit the streets yesterday. has some patched up installers to avoid some of the problems in the original cebit 3.4. Also has some user-requested packages like firefox, thunderbird, mplayer, the newer gimp 2.0, karamba, and many more. Has been apt-get upgraded to unstable distribution for newest packages available. Highly customized desktops, and KDE now at 3.2.2. Openoffice removed to make space. You can apt-get install openoffice.org for hdd-installs. kdei18n multi-language stuff has been removed for space also. This thing is defaults to English (KDE and Keyboard)!

The beta from a few months ago had bugs in the kmenu and kicker, but in the new release these things have been fixed.
It is available by Bittorrent due to popularity. My hosts get hammered otherwise. We did almost 150 d/l's in the first 24 hours since distrowatch took notice of the new release.
here's a pic- Note: it shows firebird, but i have upgraded to firefox since this pic was taken.

You can't if running from CD. /usr is not writeable. If you install to hard drive, then you can do it as root. run the command-
su
and then enter root's password

2004-05-17 still has this problem

Maybe the AIC7xxx.o driver isn't ready/loading but the last line was saying that it was looking at /dev/hde for the CDROM and that was wrong.
It did seem like KDE was a bit quicker when I ran the 2.4.x-xfs kernel.
I just tried the latest iso( 2004-05-17 ) and this still fails trying to look for the SCSI CDROM on the IDE bus( hde ).
Is there nobody else running a combined SCSI / IDE system( having a SCSI CDROM) with this problem?
