    As a linux newbie, I don't know how to do this myself, but I would like to see Xlockmore and Nano available on Klik- I tried installing them on Knoppix but they wanted to access the parts of the system that sit on the CD, so I couldn't do it.

    emule doesn't install

    I tried to install the e mule program but there was a 404 page not found error. I posted a comment.
    Maybe there could be some protocol on the klik page for reporting problems.
    Maybe another link for requesting new recipes. I would post a request for Gkrellm.
    I am new to linux but I did manage to install the live cd to the hard drive of an older computer. Klik is a great application Thanks Probono

    Fixed. There was a minor upgrade and therefore a version name change in the .deb file. Too bad the klik recipe breaks each time when this happens. Now it should work at least until the next upgrade.

    As a linux _newbie_, why don't you try kate or kwrite as an editor? And instead of Xlockmore you can use the KDE built-in "lock screen" (but you have to set a password first!)

    I'll look into your suggested apps later, but right now I am on vacation in France

    e mule

    Hi again Probono thanks very much for posting a reply.It seems that part of the problem was fixed but it still won't download. I get the following error

    --12:34:29-- http://snapshot.debian.net/archive/2...2.1-3_i386.deb
    (try: 2) => `zlib1g-dev_1.2.1-3_i386.deb'
    Connecting to snapshot.debian.net[218.223.29.46]:80... failed: Connection timed

    I want you to know that I am not particularly desperate to download e mule. I think your effort is great. Since I don't know enough to repair the problems at least I can help by pointing one out if I find it.

    Seems that the debian snapshot server has a problem - unfortunately this affects several of the klik packages. Maybe you just try again later. Is klik so poular that it puts the debian server under extreme traffic?

    Probono: Well, for the work I do at my university, I often need a nice command line text editor... I'm using Kwrite now and when I need the command line I fudge my way through Vim.
    And I also use the lock screen function, I just wanted something prettier.

    In any case, klik is great.

    Probono, just in case you forgot

    Just in case you forgot, this was in the other topic (news):

    QGDict::hashKeyString:

    >> Thanks for the info, I'll investigate this. Right now, I'm on vacation, but I'll come back to it.<<

    A more complete error message is back in the news topic.

    No rush. I'm waiting for kde 3.2 anyway.

    Any chance that the VPL mode (wysiwyg mode) in Quanta will work once KDE 3.2 is running?

    Thanks again.

    Need to use klik if copying cd to hard disk?

    If I copy the cd to hard disk using the todisk cheat code (not a debian install), will I still need to use klik to run klik applications? Or will I be able to apt-get them?

    Even if apt-get is possible, the ability to install everything to a directory in the user's home folder has its advantages. Even if apt-get works, can klik still be used if todisk cheat code is used?

    Thanks again for your efforts Probono!
