It appears your using a virtual resolution.
You havn't posted your hardware, what type of screen is it? Is it a TFT or a CRT ?
The problem is i can't get the screen to fit the monitor.I can go from boot and type knoppix screen=1024x768 and the icons will be small but everything else will still be big I mean you have to move your mouse around to one end of the screen to see the rest of the screen Please help I also tried contol panels and dropped the resolution down to 1024x768 and saved it and rebooted but still the same problem What should i do Need help fast

it's a dell monitor and it's a crt
It should be auto generating a file in /etc/X11 called /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Can you copy and paste it, it will give us more informaiton![]()
DO you have a persistant home ?? (USB key or whatever ?)
or are you intending to create one...
if you are then this can be fixed by saving the config, otherwise it will need some arcane CLI options at boot![]()
