dialing problems

I just hdinstalled knoppix 3.3 and i have problems with modem as i had with fedora core 1. I have a toshiba satellite 1410-304, i found in internet instrucions on which modem drivers to install, i did it, and the modem is working... but not so good. It will dial, but it will dial usually too many numbers (more than it is supposed to do). This happens with kppp and with pppd. Any idea of what it could be?

check to see if its set to pulse dialing or mabye the drives are working correctly. Also it may just be a human error, check the phone number you typed in.
