Problems in writing to USB memory stick

I try to copy files, from the disc or from directories created by me on the root, to the memory stick but the knoppix tells me to verify if i have write permissions. How can i change this ?? someone hep me!!

thereshould be a option if you rightklick on the icon on desktop. in option there is remount read/write, atleast i have been told this, never used it, i remount manually.
