Having now managed to get airsnort working I have become stuck as to
how to use airsnort. I have checked the airsnort website but there are many dead links there.
So far I have got it running and im collecting packets. But i am unsure as how to save the info gathered. If i just quit out it says do you want to save and i say yes and it saves a crack file.
In the file menu there is save crack and log to file. Which one do i use to reload the data i saved and add to it more? is it the save and load crack file? if so what does log to file do and what can i do with it?
When i save the crack file and loaded it back up again the 3 networks in my area appear again but the packets are back to 0 and it says yes to WEP
with all 3 networks. However mine is the only one with WEP enabled.
Also when i set the channel to just one, i expected airsnort to only log data from that channel but it still shows all 3.
Also what effect do the crack breadths have?
once airsnort has enough data does the key suddenly appear in airsnort under PWhex etc?
basically all i would like to know is how to stop and start airsnort and merge the data every time so i can build up data
cheers
