First off, restart cups.
As root:Make sure your printer is on when this is done. Then try printing something in kwrite.Code:/etc/init.d/cupsys restart
What are you using to print with? It may be the program that is at fault.
In installed these two printers and when i print all i get is a bunch of symbols them it stopped printing all together. I would like step by step instructions if possible because i am still learning the world of linux. Thanks

What are you using to print with? It may be the program that is at fault.
Also, make sure you are printing to the right printer; In kwrite, hit the print button, and see what printers show up. If you dont see your printer, hit the wand and add it.
Select 'local printer'; now you should be able to see any printers attached locally.
Select your printer, and the correct driver for it.
