"screen" not working with 5.0.1

Is there a bug tracking system for knoppix ??
There is a bug in the current version of knoppix wherein when i try to open screen it gives the following error

"knoppix@0[~]$ screen
Cannot make directory '/var/run/screen/S-knoppix': Permission denied
"

This always worked in all releases.
Has anyone run into the same issue and is there any workaround for this.
