In a nutshell:
dselect update
apt-get install firefox -s (remove -s for simulation if it looks ok)
I tried to download Firefox (browser) with Konqueror and it was saved into my home folder (or it is called directory).
clicking on the downloaded file, it asked me if i want to open it with Kwrite.
How can i install Firefox ?

Shouldn't that be apt-get -s install firefox ?Originally Posted by Markus
Why not use klik?
The other approach which in my opinion is very simple is that dont go thru the pain of installing it.
Just download the tarred file from say for example
http://mozilla.cs.utah.edu/pub/mozil...tk2+xft.tar.gz
Untar it in your home directory and you can use firefox without installing it.

I always put the -s at the end. That way if it looks ok I just hit up-arrow and BackSpc*2 to remove it and install the package.Originally Posted by CrashedAgain

sudo apt-get install firefox
