After knx-hdinstall how do I change fonts?
OK, I did a knx-hdinstall and in KWRITE and KONQUEROR, for example, I get this really hard to read uppercase font. How do I get it back to normal? I can hardly see what I'm writing right now as I'm using Konqueror off the hdinstall.
Please Help!

Regards,
If it is just the fonts themselves then go into Settings and for Kwrite Configure Editor and choose the fonts you want for Konqueror -> Settings then Configure Konqueror change the default fonts. If it is system wide then in the Control Center -> Apperance and Themes and change the default fonts there. Also make sure that anti-aliasing is turned on. You may want to try creating a /home/user_name/.Xresources with Xft.autohint: 1 in it it seems to make my fonts look better with the anti-aliasing.
If it is the Xserver itself then check your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 make sure there is no FontPath 7100 line or that it is commented out and that the line FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/type1" is at the bottom of the paths then check that the 75dpi is above the 100dpi line. Then you would check in the file /etc/kde3/kdm/Xservers and change the -100dpi lines to -75dpi if necessary now after having done all this re-start the Xserver and you should see a change in the fonts.
Bonus tip apt-get install msttcorefonts to download and install the MS web core fonts note: the damn thing asks twice during install to configure it just use the same options as the first time thru.

Wouldn't it be easier to get the ms fonts, use cabextract
and put the resulting *.TTF files in a .fonts directory
in your home directory?
Not very debian-like, but does the trick.
The fonts should show up in all your menus (Konqueror,
Mozilla, Opera looks a lot better), just click away.
Although I must say I like some of the goofy fonts
that are included with Knoppix.
