Save all configuration

Hi!

I am trying to save all the configuration including network configurations to a file. Then, when a specific user login i would like to rollback all the configuration that i had saved to the file. Can you help me solving this 2 problems?

Doesn't "Save KNOPPIX configuration" do this (K->KNOPPIX ->configure->Save KNOPPIX Configuration)? Don't know about networks, but it works pretty well for me. Then couldn't you save as many different configurations as you like and just change the location in the cheatcode?

E.g., for "location1" and "location2", couldn't you just use either "Knoppix myconfig=/dev/location1" or knoppix myconfg=/dev/location2"? Perhaps you could even put the configs on different thumbdrives, and just boot to knoppix myconfig=/dev/sda1.

Hope I'm not oversimplifying a complex problem.
