kiiib will not let me copy dvd4.4 gb

kiiib says my dvd is to big to copy says only 4.3gb can be copied dvd media is 4.7 what do i need to do? i'm new to linux i'm currently using stux I have two dvd burners both benq dw1620 my dvd reader is toshiba m1402 amd processor 950 mhz 320 m ram help!!!!!!!

Unlike CD's (which really can hold 700 meg (703 meg actually) on a 700 meg CD), DVD media specs are a big lie. A supposed 4.7 gig DVD will only hold slightly less than 4.48 gig. This is not an issue unique to Knoppix or Linux, and there is nothing that Knoppix is going to do to change it.

and to make things even more interesting some space is always lost. the more small files the larger loss.
