May not be the greatest place ever, but does anyone have experience with working with Video DVDs under Linux? I'm trying to convert 3 divx-encoded avis to a mpeg2 format, or anything else usable for a dvd burning. I've looked at a number of howtos, but I can't figure out how to get a good transcode from DivX. Thoughts?
The two howtos I find most useful have been: http://www.tappin.me.uk/Linux/dvd.html and http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6953. I've tried playing with the "transcode" utility: http://zebra.fh-weingarten.de/~transcode/, but all my output seems to be bad (using xine to test). Google results have not returned any additional information that I find relevant, unless I'm missing something.
