how do I get/use them with mozilla via knoppix and the internet?

Download flashplayer plugin from http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ & follow the installation instructions. You will be asked for the location of your mozilla plugins directory, with Knoppix it is /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins.
If you are using Konqueror as a web browser it can use the same plugin.
Shockwave doesn't seem to be available for Linux.
You might also want Realplayer, download from http://www.real.com/ & follow the instructions.
