Klik Knoppix 3.7 Poor Man's Install persistent home?
I use the Poor Man's Install of Knoppix 3.7, with persistent home. I have been able to use Klik, and download a few functional applications (some don't work, but that is not unexpected).
I see that the downloaded applications are installed to ramdisk. How can I get them into my persistent home, so that I do not need to re-Klik later? Moving the cmd file doesn't seem to be enough.
Of course, if it isn't possible with Poor Man's Install, that is worth knowing!

Oh, it's definitely possible! I do it all the time. Klik should be saving the downloaded packages to your persistent home already. If not, you should probably look to make sure that your PH is set up and configured properly. A properly configured PMI, with PH and saved configs, will serve as a fully functioning OS.
I don't have the details of your PH setup, so please forgive me if I'm telling you something you already know. Early on, I made the mistake of assuming that I could set up a PH and use it right away (i.e., in the same Linux session). Someone had to explain to me that you have to set up the PH, then shut down and reboot, using the "home=/dev/hd**" cheatcode. Only then with the PH be available to you.

The new version of klik installs applications in cmg images, so it is sufficient to save the cmg files somewhere (by default they are on the desktop, which is saved as part of your "persistent home").
Btw, the latest Kanotix release has support for klik and cmg built-in by default.
Greetings,
probono
