How to make a live CD

    Hey guys.
Greetings from Matts. I have a security project to do and i will need to make a custom LiveCD for Linux distribution. Can anyone help me with that ? I would highly appriciate it.
I know Whoppix has nice collection of tools and there are couple of other good distribution of LiveCD too for Security but for my project i need to make custom set of tools. So if anyone of you can help me regarding that or even post some links that would be great.
    Thanks again .
    -Matts.

    Hi Matts,

Have you looked into remastering Knoppix. There is fairly good documentation on how to remaster Knoppix to add your own set of custom tools.

    Cheers

Umm...You could try data dumping your hard drive to an ISO file and burnnig it...That's about all I can tell you...
    Code:
    dd if=/dev/hda1 of=Image.iso
where /dev/hda1 is your partition that you've got mounted currently

Kowood, there is a reason why noone is responding to him. He did not read the Documentation or the wiki Remastering HOWTO. He is posting in the wrong forum, see Customising & Remastering forum. He wants people to help him, but he didn't even help himself by doing some simple reading. In regards to remastering or customizing a CD, this is the third such time a person wastes their time to register with the forum, type up a post without reading anything, & wait for others to jump in help them. See this for the first incident & my response. http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtop...?p=74506#74506

Do I expect a super-duper mad-hacker leet sysadmin Unix guru effort out of newbies? Nope. I just expect people to read. The links to the Documentation, HOWTOs are all dead easy to find. If they are not willing to take the time to read the documentation that we have written up, then I will not take the time to help them.
