    Screen off-set

When I boot the Knoppix cd KDE loads properly, but the entire screen is shifted slightly to the right. I can even move the mouse off the screen and click windows to close/min/max. During the boot Knoppix correctly identified my video card.

    What is causing this.

Please help, I'm new at this.

    Thanks.

    Monitor

It has to do with your monitor being set to a resolution it's never seen before (yes, you may have used 1024x768 in other OSes, but probably not with this exact refresh rate). Just manually adjust your monitor's settings (on the monitor itself) to move the picture a bit to the left. If it's a recent monitor, it'll automagically save that setting and remember it for the next time you use Knoppix.
