I have a Solid Year ACK-540U USB Combo Keyboard and Touchpad, basically the guts of a laptop with a USB connection for a desktop PC. The keyboard works fine regardless of the bios legacy setting but the touchpad portion refuses to work no matter what PC its connected to or distro/kernel used with it. In win98SE and XP it works with no special drivers. Its a USBHID device. Would appreciate any ideas for getting this device working (even a work-around) or advice on how to go about further debug or troubleshooting. This appears to be at kernel level not an issue with the X config and driver.
When I cat /dev/input/mice or /dev/input/event1, etc and move finger on touchpad I get no "jibberish" as expected.
