    card reader problems

RE_SUMBITTED i wrongly submitted to networking; unable to delete from there. Sorry, very sorry

Unable to get hama usb 2.0 card reader 9in1 (with Sony memory stick) detected on knoppix 5.0.1 launched from CD (pc on debian etch 32bit). This is a trial before going to buy expensive 9GB card reader for my data and special programs for using knoppix from CD on computers (mostly Mac) I'll find on French colonies.

Deabian etch running WITHOUT CARD READER IN:

ON KNOPPIX, card reader not detected on:
launching knoppix with card reader in
    hot plugging card reader
    cat /proc/partitions
    dmesg | grep sd
    fdisk -l

Thanks for help. Should also <$ lspci -v> be needed from knoppix running, please advise me. However, knoppix detects all HD, including external scsi peripherals (HD, CD, scanner, all working ok). What does not work is networking (ADSL), not needed for my travel; also Deskjet 5740 not working: CUPS, answers that filter Foomatic + hpijs does not exist or user without permission. May be because i hate USB (never had problems with scsi from laptops to mainframes)

Much closer now. The card is now detected identically (except for bus and device nr) on debian etch and knoppix
