I don't know your particular hardware, but try having the drive already plugged in when Knoppix boots and see if that helps. And we are talking about booting from an optical disc, are we not? (All bets are off if not.)

Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.
I plugged in my notebook drive in the usb caddy
it auto finds it ok
but errors when trying to access it
need to be root user to do the mount
fat is invalid
ended up with
create a folder to mount it to
/home/dr/nb
then, root user
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /home/dr/nb
it's showing fine, now. g'luck
i tried both methods nether worked
the "mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb1" command result in this
mount: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device
so whats wrong do i need a driver or somthing
hmm, my usb 1.1 camera isn't playing nice either
will have to do uhcdev thingy research
from a dos tty screen
and root access
cd /dev
ls
my notebook was autofound on the usb when i plugged it in
and it auto showed in the Info Center USB view
and /dev/sda and /dev/sda1 appeared
the camera showed an error
usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64
errors, 6 lines in all
does you dos screen show errors when you plug in ?
i see no devices in info view just USB UHCI Root Hub (1) and USB UHCI Root Hub (2) and both my mp3 and thumb drive are hooked up
maybe this will help
MP3 is a Sandisk Sansa m230
Flash Drive is a Sandisk Cruzer U3 Device
also video is weard its only 1024x768 and when i had windows it was 1280x800
is there a way to make it that big again
here is a snapshot of the Info View ScreenOriginally Posted by ILoveKagome
just wondering what version of knoppix are you using
I am trying it with the all new 5.1.0
I don't think it's gonna play
though it appears there is supposed to be support straight out of the box, perhaps off the cd-boot
I can't be bothered plugging in the cd-rom again
really theres a 5.1 i still have 4.3Originally Posted by marhleet
