how can i save on a floopy or hd?

i work on a laptop and can't save any files.
i dont have pemission to save on hd and my floopy does'nt reply.

Your local disks appears in the desktop. There are the icons named "hda1" (must be c, hda2: or hdb1: (must be d, and so on.

Select one formatted with fat32 (win 95 and win 9. If they are formatted with NTFS (win 2000 and win XP) don't use knoppix to write because in this format you can corrupt you information. If you are unsure about this better don't try.

By the way. Right Click on the icons of your disks and select "mount" and finally "change REad/Write mode". And you will be able ta save information. The path will be /mnt/hda1 or /mnt/hdb1

perhaps its because it is a usb drive?
it seems that the knoppix doesn't recognize the drive.
