Version of Acrobat Reader is very old

Gang,

Knoppix comes with version 4 of Acrobat Reader. They have had version 5.08 out for some time. How is it decided to update this sort of thing?

If you installed Knoppix to hdd then you can simply install a newer version however if I absolutely have to read a pdf I prefer to use the open source apps that IIRC are included as well w/ Knoppix.
