    data storage

Where does the browser stores favorites and cookies?
Where does the news reader stores the data?

I noticed 2 files being added here (under WinXP) after running Knoppix

    X:\Documents and Settings\Users
RefEdit.exd and another file simply named "~"

    appreciate any assistance

    Re: data storage

--I don't think Knoppix left those files, but who knows... If you mounted your HD r/w, you're on your own. Knoppix is r/o by default.

--Linux doesn't use file extensions, for the most part. Everything should be being written to /ramdisk (/home/knoppix) somewhere under Knoppix, AFAIK.

--My advice is to delete those two files and run a Norton system check or the like.
