Linux on wimpdoze?
Here is an interesting little project attempting to run Linux ON wimpdoze, and uses the example of a Japanese Knoppix running http://www.colinux.org/screenshots/knoppix.png as an example.
Now this would certainly make migration a lot easier.
See:
CoOperative Linux http://www.colinux.org/
This would definately make testing out a Knoppix/Linux install a lot more friendly for those still on the border. Migration into wimpdoze only offices etc.. It has potential uses, and Knoppix supporting this type of install to HD from the CD/DVD could help in getting people to migrate.
Use the best of both worlds till your comfortable with the new Linux, then you can do a wipe and install of Linux.

This is nothing new. You can even use cygwin with KDE or GNOME to completely replace the actual windows desktop. This causes only a few problems, mostly with the windows control panel. (and one of the 2 has had problems with noroot mode [no root means Xserver does not run in a window])
As cygwin provides a full linux environment, the only new thing the screen shot shows is the use of Knoppix as a basis for a cygwin configuration.
But irt is still a most interesting screen shot.

I like cygwin, but I think this provides for a lot more flexibilty. Also is cygwin running a full version of Linux within windows or just running X and linux apps within windows? I thought the later was the case. This looks like an interesting project. Too bad I don't use windows anymore
