Default Applications for file extention "types"

    Hi all,

Is there some global way to assign an application to a file extension.

A .torrent for example in konqurer (or whatever!) always asks me to select an app.. I can't find the bittorrent in the application list it provides.
Mozilla works okay since the /etc/mailcap is referenced.

Other than that I need to assign image files to some application.
    What ones do you recommend.

Also, is there not some better file explorer than konquerer or how can I configure it better than the default.

    Tanks,
    Bill

You can right click on the file(with entention) and select "Edit File Types" and go from there.
