could someone set me straight?
will apt-get dist-upgrade upgrade to the newest version of knoppix ir do i have to re-install everything for each upgrade?
-
it will upgrade to the latest version of Debian unstable. (Knoppix hd install is basically a fully set up Debian unstable install)
for the most part you won't lose any applications or anything, but check the list of removed programs and make note of them so that if there is something you want, you can install it later.
i highly recommend upgrading to the 2.6.x kernel and kde 3.2.x... i just did it and the performance increase is amazing.
