Security: How to chek md5 of a burn't CDrom?

Salve!

Does andybody has an idea how to make a md5sum check of an burn't CD?
Or does md5 use also the date & time information when the file was
created?
I checked once to grab a Knoppix cd, make again mkisofs and the md5sum test faild. ;(

Starting idea:
mkisofs /mnt/cdrom KNOPPIX_3.1-2003-01-20-EN.iso
md5sum -c KNOPPIX_3.1-2003-01-20-EN.iso
