If you are installed to the HD then you can use apt-get to install guarddog, firestarter or bastille-linux for a firewall/router app and if running from the CD and really paranoid Arno's Iptables should be runable. Another place to check your ports is Gibson Research and follow the Shield's Up links.

Can we get a "sticky" on this topic???

Hello, SysAdmin here, this topic is not more than a month old... ( I know I replied to a similar post on this same subject, not more than a month ago )

While we are on the subject:

    Suggested "sticky" posts:

    Root Password (subject)
    Firewall and Virus Protection (subject)

Just some suggestions, not that I like to repeat my same posts over and over ( I am sure Stephen is getting tired of replying to the same topics ), but, maybe we can cut down on the repeat topics ???

    Just trying to help,
    Cuddles
