Apt install preview

Hi everyone...
here is my question:
When i boot Knoppix and use "apt-get install " and type only the first letters and then press tab 2 times, then i can see all the avalibel pack`s (from my apt sources) beginning with same first letters, but when i install Debain by myself, then i can`t see the avalibel Pack`s
Got anyone a solution???

Edit the /etc/bash.bashrc and uncomment this section.

# enable bash completion in interactive shells
    if [ -f /etc/bash_completion ]; then
        . /etc/bash_completion
    fi

Nope, man..... ain`t workin
Won`t workin on my install and i tested it at my friends pc.....

Well that is a strange one I just enabled it on my firewall machine and it works perfectly.

jupp done it... and i had even restarted.... but nothing helps

I'm out of ideas then that is all I have every needed to do on my boxes to get it working.

Dear Friends,
a couple of months i tried (hard) to have same very good bash-autocompletion as knoppix has at my libranet (debian) box.
The result : NOWAY. I did not achieve same functionality at all.
Really I don't kno why but if someone can help us PLEASE DO IT.
