how do I install AIM?
You don't have to install aim. Knoppix includes a decent AOL IM replacement called gaim. You should be able to find it in the menu. If you really want AOL IM then I found http://www.aim.com/get_aim/linux/latest_linux.adp?aolp= by searching google for aim linux.
