Error Message: "PCMCIA found, starting cardmgr." -

    Hi there:
I wonder if I can get help on the following please:
    - HW: TOSHIBA Satellite (Celeron M processor).
    - SW: CD-ROM Knoppix for dual reboot with Windows XP. CD came with book Moving to Linux.
The systems freezes in the boot up process when the error message appears "PCMCIA found, starting cardmgr.".
Can anyone tell me what I am missing please?
    Thanks.

I can't be sure what is going wrong, and don't even know what version of Knoppix was included with that book. But you might want to follow the documentation link near the top of this page and read the cheat codes section of the wiki. One cheat code that seems likely to help would be knoppix nopcmcia at the boot prompt. But others might help also, and even let you still use the pcmcia slot.

Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.
