quick install note:

I've noticed that with the excellent knoppix-installer script that I have to do the following to get the eth0 card to come up automatically w/ dhcp (otherwise I just seem to get the loopback interface).

add this to the end of /etc/network/interfaces:

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

save and then /etc/init.d/networking restart

It's already in the FAQ Network but you can't have it in to many spots.
