    s there a knoppix-lite?

    hi, alot off people are asking, why cant we find a version of linux that is about 200-300megabytes, includes KDE3.1 gui but not the other extras, us dial-up people can not download these HUGE os,es. thankyou.

    Have a look at 'Kurumin'. And learn a litle Portuguese ...

    and you can order a copy of the latest 3.3 for just a few bucks on several pages...

    thanks for the replying, i bought koppix on cd for 10.00$ delivered to my door, what im talking about is that there is a lot of people who would love to give linux a try and more importantly give windows the big shove BUT they dont want to pay for something that the might hate and as i said they are not willing to download 700 megabytes on a dial up account, you see light versions of linux every where but they have no gui and therefore are useless to linux newbies.

    a minimal livecd with kde whould be at least some 300 meg. And it whouldnt have much software on it, beside kde. Maybe someone made it, or maybe you want to

    Eadz already has made one you can get it here it is the KnoppixKDE iso it's based on knoppix3.1 so it's kind of old now.

    Definitely more up to date but not but the same maker Alex does the Morphix thing.

    why don't you try Slacklite out ??

    at www.slackware-live.org is you can find a linux-on-cd with a size of only 185.
    it has kde / konqueor and so other usefull tools .
    it's not based on debian like konppix but slackware is ok, too
