configure ftp on knoppix-hdinstall

i have knoppix installed on my hdd and i dont use cdrom primarily

i use knoppix-live and have used ftp to transfer files zillion times so i know exactly and perfectly how to login into ftp onto livecd

after the knoppix install on hdd i was unable to get the ftp server up and running.

i am a linux intermediate guy and have figued out that its not the same way you ftp into knoppix-live.

any help on configuring knoppix-hdinstall to make ftp working appreciated.

Can i bring this matter to someones attention, I have the same view point, and after scouring these forums, I cannot find any information about why I cannot get the FTP server to run.

can someone tell me if the ftp serverhas been disabled after a hddinstall or is it a bug?

I am linux intermediate as well, and would also appreciate an answer to this problem...can't connect to my machine from my flatmate's xp box using ws_ftp...through a billion adsl router connected to the internet at the same time...

Hmm, not certain if I understand the problem...

However: try
# apt-get install -t testing vsftpd

Then edit /etc/vsftpd.conf, /etc/hosts.allow, and /etc/hosts.deny to your preferences.
