Invoking Login Screen ?

I have Knoppix3.1 CD, it does not give login screen at start up. I want to customise to invoke login screen to authenticate users. Is there any way to invoke login screen. What all do I have to change ???

since it is a CD, there is no user info stored so I don't see what a login screen would be for.

If it is a HD install, do this :

apt-get install gdm

or

apt-get install kdm

which will give you a graphic login screen.
