1984 M0110 Kybrd for Mac 128k 512k Mac Plus, Tested & Working - But See Notes:
$134.99

Hi! Up for sale is one genuine and rare M0110 Apple Keyboard for Macintosh 128k 512k 512ke and Macintosh Plus computers. This is the original Macintosh keyboard from 184. It has been tested recently on my personal Macintosh 128K computer and has been verified to be working - with the exception of the 9, W, ] and \\ keys. The issue is with the key switches which need to be replaced. This is a very common issue with these early Macintosh keyboards of this type. Because of this, it’s very rare on e-Bay or elsewhere to find a keyboard of this type WITHOUT this issue. To verify this, check the other Macintosh M0110 keyboards on and you will see sellers (if they are honest) describe this issue - if you find any other sellers who have tested these keyboards at all. Most sellers state that their keyboard for sale is untested, which means that they probably are defective which means that you wasted your money. With my keyboard, I have included 4 new key switches that need to be swapped out with the defective ones (see picture). It’s a pretty easy swap out that simply requires pulling out the keys and switches and replacing them. After pulling out the key and defective switch, you simply reinstall them by snapping them back in place (the new switch and key). There are YouTube videos on how to do this.

As a vintage Macintosh computer collector for about 20 years who has a large inventory of early Macintosh computers, I have had this keyboard in storage in a climate controlled environment in my home for about 20 years. Because of this, the yellowing of the plastic outer case that is present in most of the other Macintosh M0110 keyboards on (or elsewhere) is really minimized. It’s when these plastics are exposed to natural light or other harsh environmental conditions over time that the plastic outer case turns into a yellowing color.

As is shown in the pictures, this keyboard is in overall excellent condition. I have taken it apart (see pictures) and THOROUGHLY cleaned it with professional electronic grade 99.9% alcohol. However, the rubber feet on the back of the keyboard do shown signs of wear, some stickiness and softening. This is extremely common with these keyboards after 41 years since their production.

If you look at most of the other Macintosh M0110 keyboards on , you will see that most have not been tested at all. So, you have no idea if they work or not. Mine is tested, the defective keys identified and new replacement switches included.

As an exception to my general 30 day refund/return policy, on this particular item, I cannot accept returns or refunds. This is because an unscrupulous buyer can simply falsely claim that this keyboard is defective (other than the defects I’ve listed) and return their own defective keyboard for a refund and keep my tested and working keyboard. I hope you can understand this.

This sale is for the keyboard only - it does not include the coiled wire to attach it to the computer. On (and elsewhere) I have seen these genuine coiled wires for sale and even working reproductions which are relatively cheap.

If there are any other questions that you may have about this keyboard or would like additional pictures, please feel free to message me.

I challenge you to find a similar Macintosh M0110 keyboard in this fantastic cosmetic and working condition on or elsewhere.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!
